25,000 in a high dividend paying stock.
Canadian Banks/American Banks are rather cheap right now, and pay you a dividend per year.
And the stock price is more than likely to raise because of their recent downtrend.

the other 25,000 in a nice fixed income paying 6-7% guaranteed.

If it's for short term, and want to quickly double your money, On the Toronto Stock exchange;
SKV.V
PRB.V

Only have 1-3 weeks left to jump in those stocks to see a reward.

Good luck.

Depends on your level of risk. If you want the 50K guaranteed you can go with a CD or MMA and earn about between 3-4% for the year.

If your risk level is high you can invest in a handful of stocks or a mutual fund for the year but you should probably consult a broker or financial adviser if you plan to do that.

If you absolutely can't risk any of it just put it in a CD for the year and get $1,500 to $2,000 in interest.

Or you can do a combo of both.

Maybe look into a duplex house or apartment complex. Some kind of fixer-upper. I bought a fixer-upper house for $45,000 and now it's worth over $95,000. I rent it out for $1200 a month and make a nice little monthly income

Depends on the level of risk you are willing to take. And high interest (as a rule of thumb) correlates with risk.

Find a CD account online, or other banking institution, they have the highest rates.
