In other words, what are some states in Canada, that include more banks and investment institutions?

We don't have 50 States like the USA, we have 10 Provinces, and 3 Territories.

Much of our banking industry, including the "Toronto Stock Exchange" is on Bay Street, in the City of Toronto, Province of Ontario.

Waterloo, Ontario has lots of insurance offices.

The province of Alberta is rich in oil reserves.

Each province has a capital city, which will have a thriving business and finance area.

As someone else pointed out, we don't have states. We have Provinces & Territories.
The most banking & investment jobs are in the city of Toronto, Ontario.
Toronto is Canada's largest city and the 5th largest in North America.
The only city in North America with more skyscrapers than Toronto is NYC.
Toronto's also home to the busiest freeway in North America: the fabled 401 which at some points is 24 lanes wide.

"As Canada's commercial capital and one of the top financial centres in the world, Toronto is considered an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group"

"According to Forbes, Toronto is the tenth-most economically powerful city in the world and one of the fastest growing among the G7 nations, whilst PwC ranks the city as the world's second-best "metro powerhouse."

Toronto's Bay Street is Canada's version of New York's Wall Street.
The Toronto Stock Exchange is the 7th largest on Earth.

Toronto's Financial District includes the headquarters of five major Canadian banks*, the Toronto Stock Exchange, major insurance companies, investment firms, pension funds, law firms and accounting firms.

*Canada's banking system is different from America's.
Overview of key differences: http://www.ehow.com/list_7584395_differences-canadian-banks.html
Also this:
America's banking system is based on the Bank of England model.
Canada's isn't. Canada's is based on the Bank of Scotland model.

So if you're looking to immigrate and become a fiscal fatcat, Toronto's the place to go.

How do you expect to get a job in finance if you don't know that Canada has provinces and territories, not states?

Anyway, probably places like Ontario, Alberta, and BC. As someone already said, Toronto and capital cities are great places for financial careers. Vancouver too.
