CUSIP Number

An identification number assigned to all stocks and registered bonds. The Committee on Uniform Securities Identification Procedures (CUSIP) oversees the entire CUSIP system.

Stock Exchange Daily Official List (SEDOL)

An identification code, consisting of seven alphanumeric characters, that is assigned to all securities trading on the London Stock Exchange and on other smaller exchanges in the U.K.

The relationship between CUSIPs and SEDOLS is interesting in that multiple CUSIP's can be associated with a single SEDOL.

e.g.
CUSIP--- SEDOL
30733120 633147
30733130 633147
