If the market continues to decline?

If the market continues to decline?

If the US market continues to decline at such a rapid pace, what does this mean in real terms to the average middle class American family or citizen? How will it effect our daily lives in real ways that we will be able to see almost immediately?

If the market continues to decline?

The markets are declining because a lot of countries are living on borrowed money
.
And next week will be one of panic in the market place
.
China has already given notice it is not happy with the S&P credit down grade and has voiced it concern if America can every pay back the money that it has borrowed
.
And the world is already starting to react with the budget goal of 2.4 trillion in debt reduction and how it will effect the America job market
.
With the shut down of the Asian markets Friday when panic selling started has a lot of investors world wide
.
Not able to sleep this weekend thinking what will happen when the Asian markets open then the Euro markets open and about 4 hours latter the American stock market opens
.
The NY Stock Exchange already has its hands on the switch to shut it down if panic selling starts
.
It is expected that the first 30 minutes of the market being open there will be a lot of selling
of small stocks
.
The little ones are the ones that are the first to get hurt
.
God Watch Over Us We need all the Help We can get

It depends. Nothing dire may happen but this is also a possibility:

At first stock and the price of oil would decline. Bond, Treasury, mortgage and credit card interest rates would go up. There would be more lay offs.

If it continues for a while then food prices would first rise then come down dramatically as people are unable to buy.

There could be some level of social unrest.

I don't think it would go that far. S&P would raise the rating when they see the damage.

Not much, except the value of their 401k and investment portfolios. But it probably won't. In fact it will probably do just the opposite, which won't benefit the public much either.

Be more worried about the price of oil. When that goes up it affects every citizen.

Yes. And America will remember their conservatives for their actions :They fight abortions by bombing clinics, they fight for family values by raping altar boys , they fight for high morality in congress by soliciting sex in a men's room (GOP senator Larry Craig), they fight for fiscal responsibility by stealing (GOP speaker Tom Delay - a convicted thief), they fight muslim terrorism by bombing government buildings and shooting their own citizens and kids (Breivik- new conservative hero),they fight for balanced budget by starting new illegal and expensive wars , they fight for America by making president to fail (party of "idiotic NO"),, they are fighting for US AAA credit rating by performing 3 week cirques in front of the whole world...
