I'll research what you recommend but I need some new ideas.

What do you feel is a good buy right now and for the long haul and Why?

Greywolf,

The stock market hit bottom on March 9, 2009 and has been rising ever since. You should buy shares in a company that has: a safe dividend; it should be a blue chip so they should have a decent balance sheet (with no credit default swaps and/or off-balance sheet liabilities, which GE is guilty of); and who will weather the current downturn and come out better in the long-run because they are a market leader. Some blue chip bargains are:

Boeing (NYSE: BA ~ $40 pays $1.68/sh dividend)
United Technologies (NYSE: UTX ~ $48 pays $1.54/sh dividend)
Rio Tinto (NYSE: RTP ~ $160 pays $5.44/sh dividend)
Whirlpool (NYSE: WHR ~ $45 pays $1.72/sh dividend)

Look for companies with 4 or 5 star Standard & Poors Buy Ratings.

I just bought shares of Synaptics (nasdaq symbol: SYNA). The company makes the components for touch-screen technology, which we're seeing in everything from cell-phones to cameras now, and I predict will become more integrated into households (televisions, kitchen appliances, etc)

The Illumina is another one I believe in (nasdaq symbol: ILMN). They provide the technology that allows other companies (and soon, hospitals) to analyze the human genome. One up-and-coming company that uses their technology is 23andme. It provides anyone with an analysis of their DNA. Although they don't have an IPO, Google has invested in them, as well as Genentech. Well, again, The Illumina provides them with the products that make their service possible.

Two more: Marvel Entertainment has been doing well lately, as well as Quality Systems, Inc.

Good luck!

For long-term, stocks in solid companies that pay quarterly dividends and raise them each year. You can check whether a stock pays dividends at YA finance and check the dividend history in the investor section of a companies web site.

minimum to invest only 5K USD, you can test the water before putting serious money in the investment.

You can consider FX Funds Group if you would like to make 2% - 15% per month.

search for myfxfunds in google search engine for more information.

You didn't tell us what currently is in your portfolio, so how will we know if our recommendation is for a new stock? WMT, GOOG, and CHN are 3 for you to research. You might find the 3rd new.

Coffee is in short supply right now and Green Mountain is poised in it's position to take full advantage of this market.
