What tires for my 04' TSX?

Postby boseda » Tue Apr 30, 2013 6:25 pm

Help! I need 2 new tires on the front of my 2004 Acura TSX within the next 2000 miles. The car alone has 93 k on it but is in great shape. I am a college student who works part time (NO MONEY). Firestone gave me a price of $415 for two tires and the rotate and balance without alignment. I feel that's not a good deal. Any suggestions on where to buy else were and then have someone put them on for me?

You didn't say what size the stock tires are, and when I look it up, I find 2 different sizes listed, a 215/50-17 and a 225/45-17. In the 215/50-17, the cheapest tire I found for an all season tire is the Kumho ASX at $108 per tire, not counting mount/balance. Mount/balance varies. At Discounttiredirect.com, the cheapest I found was $94/tire not counting mount/balance for the same tire as I have on one of my cars right now.

If you're only replacing 2 tires, you should ideally match them to the tires already on the vehicle. Having 4 of the same tires on a vehicle will give you more predictable handling as compared to having 2 different make/model of tires on the car.
